that baby needs a shower!!!

this weekend we had my little sisters baby shower!!!

its still so hard for my pea brain to grasp the fact that i am...

1. going to be an aunt!!!

(probally the best one there ever was to walk to face of the earth!!!)

2. that my baby sister is having a baby!!!

3. that our lives are going to drastically change (for the better) in less than a month!!!!

so we decided to SHOWER kathleen in oodles and oodles

of pink, frilly, too cute to handle baby "stuff"!!!

seriousally could this little prego get any cuter?!?!?!

um i think not!!!!

i love love love making cakes...

(oh and eating them too!!!)

so i was a very lucky duck to get to make this cute

pink and brown polka doted cake!!!!

we played games and one of them was "what a mess"

we had melted candy bars in the diapers!!!

it was such a hoot!!!

the boys even got in on it at the end of the party!!!

# 2... 5 days late!!

ok so i know i started this " blog every day" thing.... yeah i suck at that!! lol but i really am trying.. i have thought about blogging every day just never got around to sitting down to my dinosaur of a computer to actually blog!!

So a couple of days my good friend and i kinda thru a couple of old memories around on facebook... it really got me thinking about high school and my wonderful friends and all our wacky memories!! so thats what im gonna blog about today!!

i know most of you will not even remotly understand why we did the things we did or why we thought they were so funny and why thinking of them today still makes me laugh out loud... literaly...

so i dont exactly know who threw the "first punch" so to say in the toilet paper war... but i know that it started a tp'ing revolution!! my house seemed to get the "brunt" of the tp... but to back up... it was boys against girls.. like all good wars usually are!! so we went all the way out to cherry valley (i think) anyways it was all the way out to josh reeds house!!! in the middle of bfe! so were all out tp'ing our little hearts out, and all of the sudden adrienne screams and sais "there home!! i just saw a face in the window!!!" so we all freak out and run up this massive hill to get to our cars!! im driving this sweet malibu... for some reason i started driving off and poor michelle torres was still trying to get in the car so that was so funny her jumping in and me driving off... and now the kicker is that josh reed wasnt home... adrienne just saw her reflection!!! another funny thing with the tp'ing was that my dad would get so mad!! he acted like it was a plague on our house to have toilet paper in our trees!!

also the night before prom we were all at amandas house and the boys tp'ed her house but also brought us an old bike and an old tire and some other junk... we also got in an orange throwing fight and an orange found its way into the neighbors pool... and they called the f***ing cops on us... (side note... we all think they were drug dealers! cars coming and going at all times of they day and night... we dont know fore sure, but were just sayin it was weird) so the cop shows up.. and age has her hair in the weirdest spaghetti rollers (prom is the next day) and her hood on... and he makes her take her hood off... i also think he was like 4 years older than us.. and was trying to be cool and flirt.. oh and he also called us his " peeps"

when we were at the store at 2 am buying massive amounts of tp... we stumbled upon easter grass... you know the kind that you put in the bottom of easter baskets,,, mainly blue and pink and green!! so it was after easter and the grass was on sale for .5 cents a bag!! well we couldn't pass up a super sale like that!! so i think we bought about $20.00 worth = around 400 bags of easter grass!!(and the stupid checker scanned each damn bag... she wouldnt take our word that we had 400 bags.. no she had to scan each one of them.. oh and she had a facial hair that would compeet with a mountian man!!!) now that we have all of this wonderful stuff what do we do with it?!?!? well on monday during bible class amanda adrienne and i, and maybe diane, we all need to go to the bathroom all at the same time and our teacher "heb" lets us all go!! well we didnt go to the bathroom we ran to the trunk of the car and got all 400 bags of easter grass and filled sarahs little car!!!!! it was so funny, im not sure how sarah loved it.. but we all had fun doing it!!

speaking of cars... we all had awesome rides!! age was the first to turn 16... she got a 67?!?! thunderbird!! it was blue.. the seatbelts didnt work.. and the gas gauge didnt work!! but it was hers and she was gonna drive us places!! so one day amanda and i "stole" more like borrowed her car and did some sweet doughnuts in the dirt field next to school... age also took us off roading in it thru the orange groves... and we quickly found out it didnt have shocks!! one day someone spilled a coffee in the seat, and ages solution was to cover it with a blanket.. that blanket rode in the car for like months!! but that car smelled like the best cup of coffee!!! age had to keep track of how many miles she went... because her gas gauge didnt work... well one day we were on the highest overpass... and i hear age say "oh shit" and i say what? and she said " i just ran out of gas..." so luckly we were at the top of the super tall overpass and we coast down to the bottom... to a call box... and the stupid lady on the other end wont let us call our moms they will only call a tow truck for us... so us 2 girls have to wait on the side of the 215 and wait for a trucker to come get us and haul us to a gas station!!! the next day my mom went out and bought me a cell phone!!! another one of ages vehicles was her dads big ass ford truck!!! that had a cb radio in it!!! we tried to talk to truckers on it but no one ever talked back to us.. we all had awesome names... i was big juggs... WE ALSO NAME THE TRUCK... myrtle!! after a street in laguna beach!! i think that was also the truck we were in when age went the wrong way down a ONE WAY street!! ahh good times..

we also had good times just sitting in the bed of amandas parents PICKUP... that i used as a wheel chair one night when i was a 700lb scottish person! no i was not drunk... just crazy...

we basically had the best 4 years a group of girls could ask for... yes we had our fights, and yes we had problems but looking back i dont remember any of that i just remember the good times!! like when the girls thru me a surprise luau birthday party! and for some reason we were all watching fast and furious and we told tyler that the movie was gay.. and he yelled at us that we were all lesbians... hahah that anger didnt last long cause then we went to cold stone!

all the millions of road trips we took for volleyball basketball and softball!!! priceless!!! making fun of a team mate and then having the volleyball smack me in the face !!! (karma is a bitch) thank you amanda for taking me over to get ice!!! running down the long hall way of the queen mary in our prom dresses!!! there are so many memories i cant remember them all right now... i just know i had the best friends ever!!! i love you girls and the memories we shared!!!

365 days!!!

ok i have seen on other blogs where they take the 365 days oath to blog every day!!! im biting the bullet and im going to commit!!! looking back over my blog i have captured so many great moments and in my long breaks of blogging i have missed great moments!! so i pledge to blog every day!!! im sure there will be days where i miss but im really going to make an effort!! ... starting tomorrow!!!

Ok well I just noticed that I have a small "obsession"

Peach Cobbler....

My great grandma ...big mother...

(that's what we all called her)

made the best peach cobbler I have ever eaten!!!!

I have not gotten mine to taste like hers but I am getting closer and closer...

practice makes perfect...

First I start out with fresh Hedley Peaches!!!

(I put peaches up in the freezer so I can have them all year round)

2 cups peaches

You will also need....

2 cups flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

2 dashes of salt

2 cups sugar

2 cups milk

(last time I tried half and half and it made it very dry... so I say stick with milk)

2 sticks of butter

side note: check out my new super cute measuring cups!!!

($1.97 at walmart!!!)

I grease the pan with the butter wrapper...

then in a separate bowl mix everything up...

pour into greased pan...

then place peaches on top of the batter....

about 5 minutes before its done I sprinkle sugar on top!!

cook on 350 for about 30 minutes...

(keep an eye on it...)

Take out and enjoy with your sister... mom... grandma...

or just with some ice cream and a good TV show!!!

Sand Fest 2010

This past weekend we went to Little Sahara for

Sand Fest 2010

Angie picked me up Thursday night and we headed up!

Donny had went up 2 days earlier to

"get a good spot"

which he did!!! Corner spot with lots of room!!!

He had, had a couple of things go wrong while he was there...

our new tent was missing a key piece of equipment...

but donny rigged it using a tent stake!!

very macgyver!!!

and then he ran into a post that by the way was 2 1/2 feet off the ground

and in a terrible place... but whats one more dent on

the old pickup...

(seeing as how i dented both sides in a wreck)

but we were gonna just ignore both incidents and have a great time!!

As angie and I were leaving clarendon this was what we saw behind us!

But thankfully in the distance was pure sunshine!!!

We got there about 11:45 on Thursday...

Then woke up bright and Early to some

LOUD kids that got the spot next to us...

Good Morning Baby Doll!!!!

But the Flag was flying

and we knew it was going to be a great day!

We rode a little bit... there were so many people riding

I got kinda nervous...

I kinda almost rode right in front of 7 guys that were racing...

So after that I mostly hung out at the camp site!!

and looked at this sand rail that was right across from us

(I would love to have one... or even a razor!!!)

Kathleen and mike got there late friday night!

they got everything set up and were ready to have

a great weekend!!!

Mike got a new 4 wheeler and was ready to ride!!!

and so was kathleen!!!

I was so proud of her for going out on the busiest

weekend of the year and tearing it up!!!

(i tried to get a picture of her riding off but she was too fast!)

We even had some tunes!!!

(with the help of "key stone light")

Then saturday night it got a little redneck....

Keith danger and billy ray came out to play!!!!

Side note: like 2 minutes after they were fully dressed

they were walking out to the road and a truck drove by

and slammed on the breaks and a guy jumped out...

he asked if he could take there picture next to jeremys quad....

so the boys posed... and then they guy was and i quote

"that will be in the magazine"..... hold up ... what?!?!?!

and he was for real he works for sand sport magazine

and he got his recorder out and took there names and everything!!!

so look for the boys in sand sport!!!! crazy!!!

Us girls had to have some fun too!!!

Then they decided that they had to ride!!!

I didn't go out but I heard that they raced a little...

and tore it up alot!!!

Popped some wheelies!!!

And posed for some pictures!!!

On the way back to camp there was a accident...

donny stoped on a hill and his quad started to flip backwards...

so he dove off...

and the quad flipped 2 times...

in the flipping it broke the steering rod...

but donnys ok!!!

But it didn't stop the boys from having a great time that night

and I think they made alot of people laugh with there costumes!!!

So final thoughts on the weekend...

Missing tent part $5.00... Dent in the pickup $500.00...

Broken steering rod $250.00...

Dressing up like a redneck and ending up in a magazine... PRICELESS!!!!

WE HAD A GREAT TIME WITH GREAT FRIENDS!!!

Time to make a change!

Its time to make a change...

well in the way i do things at least...

I am going to start cooking more...

and eating out a lot less!!!

I plan on painting the out side trim of our house...

and sprucing up the yard!

My office looks like this..

I plan to do more home crafts

and re-purpose the things that i do have

instead of buying new things...

Im an old hag

This weekend I will turn the big 26...

It doesn't sound that old, but when I was a little girl I always pictured myself married with at least 2 kids by the time I was 26...

Well 26 is coming fast... like in 4 days fast...

and I don't have any kids yet...

so I need time to stop, so I can get my thoughts together and figure this out!!

I'm not excited about this birthday,

in fact I'm dreading it...

like sick to my tummy... worried about it!!!

I think I'm just gonna skip this one!!!

See ya next year 26!!! don't bother stopping by this year, I'm not here!!!
