How did we meet...

My story starts a few years ago, I went trick-r-treating with my cousins and knocked on Donny's mom & dads door... they passed out candy and something different... a "popcorn ball" pretty much popcorn rolled in Carmel!! yum so good!! well right across the street was Donny's house... he was out in the yard working on his semi truck... he said hi and I said hi back... now I had been living down the street from him for about a year... and yes I had noticed him... so I was pretty excited that he said hi to me!! I didn't know at the time but my cousin went back and asked him to come over and "hang out" he did with his friend Jason... it was fun!! About a week later I get a call at 2am.... its Donny and Jason... DO YOU WANT TO GO MUDDIN?!?! I didn't even know what that was but I said yes... they came and picked me up in the same truck I am still driving today... and we went on an adventure of driving crazy thru the muddy roads of this county!!! I think back now and think how crazy and irresponsible it was to go with them... but if I hadn't I wouldn't have the love of my life!!! After the muddin we have not been apart!!!

We met October 30, 2004... were engaged in may 05... and married August 20, 2005!!!

I love Donny with all my heart and truly believe he is my soul mate... he would do anything for me and I would do the same...

We laugh every day and I think the key to a happy marriage and a lasting marriage is to marry your best friend!!! and I have a best friend in him...

SNAKE HUNT 2010

This weekend was a weekend like no other... ok maybe like a few others we have had but multiplied by 50!!! We went to little sahara again but this weekend it was

SNAKE HUNT 2010... or as donny likes to say... THE FESTIVAL!!! and not in a cool deep monster truck race announcers voice but a very soft and loving voice... apparently it is THE craziest weekend for little sahara for the whole year so why not go and have a blast?!?! Jeremy went up 2 days before all of us so we could have a great spot and it was a good thing he did because it was PACKED!!! Angie rode up with donny and I on friday and we got there around 4 and the wind was blowing about 35 mph!!! but on saturday the wind had calmed down and it was beautiful!!!

We all had a great time riding, untill I got stuck going up a hill and jeremy had to come save the day... I felt like a nerd but in my defense that hill was really steep... and very sandy... and I have a very different 4 wheeler than everyone else has... lets just say they all ride race horses and I have a pack mule!!! We rode over to the FOX store and I got 2 really neat stickers... we rode around... the guys and angie jumped some dunes... and we just had a awesome time!!!

Heading back in to the campsite from riding we were going thru the trails and thank God I was in the back of the pack... but donny tried to pass jeremy and couldn't make the sharp turn and flew over this small embankment but don't worry there was a barb wire fence there to stop him from going to far out of control!!! I was very scared he had broken some bones but it was just some really crazy scratches.. we made it back to camp and jeremy and angie went and got some first aid stuff... note to self... I will be making a kick ass first aid kit before the next adventure we all take!!! we got donny all fixed up and the boys headed back out to ride the dunes...

We are so lucky to have the great friends that we do!!! and that we all enjoy riding 4 wheelers and camping!!!

I took my camera out on the dunes and got some great action shots of every one jumping.... and yes donny FLIPPED his 4 wheeler right in front of me!!!! I was a bit freaked out to say the least but once again he is OK and didn't break anything... I think he may have 9 lives... or 12!!!

We had a great campsite and our neighbors had a bull horn and at one point in the weekend were offering free beer bongs and free sex... we didn't take them up on either offer.... they were giving helicopter rides... but they were $20 for like 10 minutes.... we later found out the reason donny kept wrecking was he was trying to get a FREE helicopter ride out of the deal... haha thank god he didn't succeed in his plan...

Angie ended up jumping higher than all the boys!!! she pretty much kicked some ass and took some names...

WOOD WARS!!!! Where ordinary men .... try to make a living.... selling wood... WOOD WARS....

We had a great trip, glad everyone is ok.... and had a blast... best snake hunt ever!!!!

Spring is here!!!

Movie nights and deep thinking....

The other night I went to movie night with my good friends Shelby and Angie...

I just love hanging out with those girls..

We all have husbands who are in LOVE with anything and everything that has to do

with 4 wheelers....

Us girls all try to get together at least once a month to have "girl talk"

its so nice to talk to other girls that are in the "same boat" as me

and we can all discuss whats going on in our lives...

Donny and I are so blessed that we have such GREAT FRIENDS that

enjoy doing things that we love to do and that we

all get along so great!!!

This is going to be the best summer ever... full of camping,

4 wheeling, and tons and tons of girl talk!!!!

I CANT WAIT!!!!

While I was at Matt & Shelby's we had a small discussion on weather

our personalities are

GLASS HALF EMPTY...

Me personally, I know my glass is half FULL.... it might be OVER FLOWING...

no matter what situation I am

in I try to see things in an optimistic light...

its hard at times but I try to have a cheery outlook on life...

almost a Mary Poppins approach on things....

for me in my life if I focus on the negative and don't put a positive spin on things

I get down and depressed...

Life is just easier when you smile!!

Yes life is hard... and it sucks to be a grown up with bills and responsibilities,

but life is great and I wouldn't have it any other way...

OK maybe if I had all my debt paid off and we owned our house and we both

had new cars life would be easier...

but I'll take it as it's thrown at me... and I will tackle life's

situations with a smile on my face and a sonic's cherry DP in my hand!!!

In high school I went my senior year to Guatemala!!!

I went with the group SI, we had many a garage sale trying to raise money for our trip...

We got there and had a truly life changing experience!

The town we stayed in was Antigua!

The main mode of transportation was a "chicken bus"

I had the best time of my life in Guatemala... the Lord changed my life in so many ways... it is a trip I will never forget!!

Your going to have to have surgery...

So a few weeks ago I got some wonderful news!!! We are going to send you to Lubbock to a Fertility Specialist!!! Praise God.. answers to my prayers!!! I just knew that this was going to make everything fall into place and we would be preggers in no time!!! Kathleen and I got up and left about 9am, it was raining but not too bad... we got to Lubbock and we needed a boat... the roads were FLOODED!!! We got to the end of our map quest directions and we were at a bank... weird... so we called and they said that there offices were on the 3rd floor of the bank... even weirder!!! so we had 2 hours to kill... lunch? sure.... so we went driving looking for somewhere to eat... were not being picky just somewhere to sit and have a meal brought to us... Logan's road house... olive garden... just something good!!! well in our quest for food Kathleen points out that there is a suspicious slushy substance on our car window... SNOW?!?!? cmon you have got to be kidding me... so long story short we get lost.... and try heading back to the doctors office and out of the corner of my eye I spot TACO BUENO!!! so we pulled in and ordered our food... great food, watched it snow more and more and stick to the grass and form a slush on the road... and we headed back to the bank/Dr's office... I go in and they check me all in.... and then they call me back to the window and say I'm sorry Mrs. Owens your insurance isn't going to cover very much of your treatments and you will have to end up paying a lot out of your pocket!!! then our conversation goes like this...

me: ohh really? did you know this on Friday?
lady: yes
me: then why didn't you call me so I wouldn't have had to drive 3 hours in the rain/snow to get here?!?!?!?!?
lady: oh I'm sorry Mrs. Owens....

so I decide to stay for my appointment and see what this "all knowing" fertility Dr has to offer me... needless to say the 1 and 1/2 hour wait in the EMPTY waiting room started to tick me off... then I got called back to what I now think was there lunch room... (dining room table... 4 chairs... magazines..) just to wait 35 more minutes... then in comes the doctor.... I was irritated to say the least but still I was very excited to see her.... in the 35 minute interview that she had with me the first sentence out of her mouth was... "I understand you don't have any money to pay me"

WTF?!?!?!

and here in a few words as possible was my fertility Dr experience...

ME: I know my insurance isn't great but I can pay what ever you charge...

DR: oh really ... (yawn)

ME: yes, can we discuss my situation...

DR: ok well you have pcos... (yawn) we will have to do this and this and this (yawn)... that will be $800 per monthly treatment... and it usually takes 4 months of treatment for you to conceive(yawn) !!

ME: ok well i am willing to do anything...

DR: (yawn) oh really?

ME: yes

DR: oh I see here you have $50,000 of surgical insurance... ok well we will need to go ahead and set you for surgery to RULL OUT endemetroisis...

ME: what? I have never even been told about that... I don't think I have that... is there a test we can to to check?...

DR: nope we just need to get you set for surgery... oh and your cost will be $1200.00... hold on my iPhone is ringing.... oh its my daughter and she is on spring break and she is going to this indoor water park and she is so excited...

ME: I think I just paid you $50 to talk to your daughter during my appointment...

Needless to say I am hurt and pissed off and very sadden at what happened... but on the other hand I have a new drive... this "Dr" flat out told me that I will never have a baby with out her help... and out to prove her wrong!!!

With the help of my regular Dr and vitamins and natural remedies I am going to have a beautifull baby... and if that doesn't happen we will adopt... I know God has a plan for me and right now I am just going to sit back and focus on getting healthy and what ever happens I know that He is the reason for it all...

SUPPRISE YOUR 30!!!

On March 1st, 30 years ago... my mother-in-law was giving birth to her baby boy.... and cut to 30 years later the way we celebrated was going to the dunes!! I had this whole weekend planned for 3 months at least... and when it came down to the wire it looked like donny wasn't going to have the weekend off... so I had to blow the supprise and tell him... he had to get the weekend off!! So friday morning we loaded up and headed to Oklahoma city to pick up donnys new (used) 4 wheeler... we got to Little Sahara around 1pm and us girls started setting up camp...

donny was so good to cook, even tho it was his birthday, I think we had enough food for everyone in the entire park! hamburgers and hot dogs and scrambled eggs for breakfast!!!

a new start

Hello.... yes I'm still amongst the living... I have taken a very long break from blogging!! I miss it so... its not that I have been that busy, I have been busy...but not to the point where it takes too much out of my hectic life to sit down and blog! so I'm back... and if I do say it might be better than ever!

The biggest thing that is the center of my life right now is that I am running for Justice of the Peace... It is eating up my life when I'm not out knocking on doors I am thinking of people who I can ask for there votes... or laying in bed wide awake at 3 am wondering what is to become of my life... I never thought that the decision that effects the rest of my life would be put in the hands of over 1000 voters!

I debated over if I should run on the republican or democratic party.... after lots of thought I decided to run on the democratic party... and quickly found out that I can not make everyone happy... I really feel that on small local elections parties shouldn't make a difference! so I filed democrat and another man did too! and one lady filed on the republican... so in the primary it is between that man and myself... the Early voting started Feb 16 thru Feb 28... and the election day is march 2nd!!!

I will be holding my breath till march 2nd... at 8pm! when I will find out if I made it thru this first primary... I will be a nervous wreck... and I am stocking up on wrinkle cream... this is truly aging me.... fast!!!

well I am truly sorry for not posting sooner and more often... stay tuned... this will be sure to be a crazy year..
